Samsung Galaxy S26 Leak Confirms Slimmer Design and Qi2 Magnetic Charging Support

Fresh leaks surrounding the upcoming Galaxy S26 from Samsung are giving us a better understanding of what to expect in early 2026. If new details from reliable tipster @UniverseIce are anything to go by, then Samsung is preparing a major design upgrade, including a thinner body and the long awaited addition of native Qi2 magnetic charging.

Slimmer Build and New Camera Layout

The Galaxy S26 is said to be just 6.9 mm, or about 0.3 mm slimmer compared to the Galaxy S 25. If that is indeed the case, the S26 will be among the thinnest flagship phones coming next year.

Samsung is also redesigning its camera module instead of its usual separated triple lens layout, the S26 will move towards a vertical pill shaped camera design, much like the Galaxy Z Fold 7. This provides a more cohesive and up to date look.

Native Qi2 Magnetic Charging Confirmed

One of the most noticeable upgrades is the addition of a built in magnetic ring around the wireless charging coil. This enables true Qi2 wireless charging, meaning compatible chargers, wallets, stands, and mounts will snap in place automatically similar to Apple’s MagSafe.

This is quite an improvement over previous Samsung models that offered only “Qi2 Ready” support in software or with magnetic cases.

Display and Performance Upgrades

Leaks indicate that the Galaxy S26 will sport a 6.3 inch Dynamic AMOLED 2X display capable of up to 3,000 nits brightness, which would be a substantial jump from the S25 2,600 nit panel.

For performance:

  • Exynos 2600 (2nm) for global markets
  • Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for the US and China

This is consistent with Samsung’s usual chipset strategy.

Charging Speeds Stay the Same

Despite the magnetic enhancements, charging speeds seem to remain the same as last year:

  • 25W Wired
  • 15W Wireless

The S 25 Ultra also had magnets but didn’t go over 15W wireless charging either, and the S 26 appears to do exactly the same.

Overview

Overall, the Galaxy S26 looks like it’s all about refinement, convenience, and ecosystem fit. The slimmer design and native Qi2 magnets alone make it one of Samsung’s most practical upgrades in years, especially if wireless accessories are a key part of your life.
